Willie Cauley-Stein grew up in Spearville, Kansas, where he excelled in football and basketball. He ranked within the top 10 of the best centers in the nation and chose University of Kentucky to play college ball. Willie spent three years with the Wildcats and was named SEC Defensive Player of the Year and first team All-American after his junior season. He was the sixth overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft to the Sacramento Kings. Willie spent four seasons with the Kings before signing with the Golden State Warriors in 2019. In January, 2020, Willie was traded to the Dallas Mavericks and subsequently re-signed with the team before 2021.
Growing up an artist, fashion and expression have always been a foundation in Willie's life. He loves to create and design, which is reflected in his bold style, that he pulls himself. He's never afraid to mix and match bold colors and prints and is a pro at layering.
Willie changed his middle name to 'Trill'
Willie was seen carrying a metal briefcase in many pregame looks during the 2019 season, Willie revealed during ProTrending's Tunnel Talk that he bought it at a gas station in his hometown.
