San Antonio Spurs
The competitive courts of nationally renowned AAU programs is where Rudy Gay began his basketball career. His hometown of Baltimore, Maryland helped to foster his elite talent and by his senior year of high school, he was rated the No. 2 small forward in the nation.
At the University of Connecticut, Rudy lived up to his big recruiting chops and was crowned the Big East Rookie of the Year. A first team All-American selection and Naismith College Athlete of the Year nomination helped usher him to an overall eighth selection in the 2006 NBA Draft. The Grizzlies acquired Gay from the Rockets shortly after the draft, where he remained for the first six seasons of his career. Rudy slashed franchise records and made it to the western conference playoffs twice during his time with the Grizzlies. A short stint in Toronto and three and a half seasons in Sacramento led to Gay signing as a free agent with the San Antonio Spurs.
Rudy’s style emulates a balance of classic designs with a trendy finish. Rudy finds fits that feel finished; often seen sporting color blocked and matching apparel. Comfort and swag are parallel with his fashion choices for his 6’8” frame. Never afraid of a bold print or color, look for Rudy to bring out one statement piece alongside a subdued classic base in his pregame style.
