Proving his abilities is something that is very familiar to wide receiver Robby Anderson. While he was a standout receiver and defensive back in his hometown of South Plantation, Florida, the top program offers failed to flood in. Landing at Temple for his collegiate days, his time in Philly was a frustrating one. Coaching changes and sporadic playing time left a frustrated Anderson to leave the University. A pep-talk from the best coach in his life, aka Anderson’s mom, gave him the focus and determination to shift his path towards a brighter future. In his return to Temple, he completed 70 receptions for almost 1,000 yards and 7 touchdowns.
While Anderson went undrafted in 2016, his rookie season was far from unimpressive. Making the 53-man roster for the New York Jets, it was time to yet again make believers out of the haters. A solid 63 receptions for 7 touchdowns laid the foundation his rookie year for him to be the Jets’ leading receiver the next season. The favorite target of the Jets’ new quarterback, Sam Darnold in 2018, Anderson was again the team’s best receiver.
Robby’s style is first and foremost always fresh, but always looks to have fun with the fits he pulls. A naturally creative individual, bold prints and loud colors intrigue the young receiver. Designer tees and slim fit jeans that highlight the latest sneakers is Robby’s go-to look. While he has a very hands-on approach to new styles and designers, he does tend to sway to his staple brands of Off-White, Dior and Prada.
His favorite food is lemon pepper hot wings
Learning from the greats! Anderson was heavily influenced by Hines Ward’s guidance and words of inspiration when the famed receiver spent time with the Jets organization at training camp
Despite growing up in Florida, you won’t find Robby in the ocean, he’s scared of sharks!
