Subban was born in Toronto and raised in the city of Rexdale. He has four siblings. His parents both immigrated from the Caribbean to Ontario in the 1970’s. Despite growing up in Toronto and loving Hockey, Subban never wanted to play for the Toronto Maple Leafs. His dream was to one day play for the Montreal Canadians like his idol, Jean Béliveau.
Subban started his career with the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League back in 2005 where he recorded 12 points in a 52 game rookie campaign. After several years with the Bulls, Subban was signed to a three year contract by the Canadiens. He began the 09-10 season with the Hamilton Bulldogs. Shortly into his new contract his dream of playing for the Montreal Canadiens came true when earned his first call up by them. He spent seven seasons with them before being traded to the Nashville Predators.
When Subban isn’t on the ice he is often seen heating things up in a sleek suit with his favorite accessory, a hat. He likes his hats to be as big as possible to help show off his personality. He is not one to shy away from fashion and isn’t afraid to take risks. He recently partnered with Adidas to showcase his signature style.
