On July 6, 1992, Manuel Arturo Machado was born in Hileah, Florida. In the sunshine state, Machado was raised by and supported by a strong family foundation from Mother, Rosa, his Grandfather Nunes, and Uncle Brito. Their Dominican spirit shines through his baseball ability. Right away Machado stood out, very highly recruited by Brito High School in Miami and in the Gulf Coast.
The hard throwing, nasty glove packing righty was selected 3rd overall in the MLB draft by the Baltimore Orioles. He debuted in 2012, but exploded in the 2013 season. He snagged an All Star Team spot his sophomore season, leading the League with 51 doubles, and acquiring a Golden Glove. Machado earned another Golden Glove Award in 2015 solidifying his dangerous defensive dexterity.
Machado’s all-out aggressive style of defensive play, is matched by an off the field style that’s similarly on the major come up. After time in LA, from his hair, to his carefree yet stylish dress, his swagger slicked up even more than one would expect. Endorsement wise, Machado likes Rawlings to do his dirty work at Short, and Nike Hurricane for batting gloves that provide an old time hometown feel.
