The first born of the Big Baller Brand sons, Lonzo Ball grew up in Chino Hills, California. The Ball brothers began dominating the AAU Basketball circuit, and soon national attention presented itself. In high school, he was ranked the No.4 player in the nation, and led his team to a California State Championship title in 2015. The first team All-American decided to stay close to home for his college ball, one-and-done year, and play for UCLA. Forging an immediate impact on the court for UCLA, Lonzo led the nation in assists. UCLA was ranked No.3 going into the NCAA Tournament, eventually falling to Kentucky in the Sweet 16. A finalist for the Wooden Award, and a plethora of other top accolades, Lonzo Ball was moving onto professional dreams.
True to his father’s prediction, Lonzo Ball was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Lonzo made a splash during NBA Summer League, as the league’s MVP, but struggled a bit his rookie year with shoulder and knee injuries. Despite the setbacks, Lonzo had a successful first season, being named to the All-Rookie second team. 2018 brought Lebron James to Los Angeles, but Lonzo was able to adjust and shine defensively for the Lakers. Selected to the ‘Rising Stars’ game, Lonzo was yet again sidelined for the season due to injury. In the 2019 off-season, the Lakers made a blockbuster trade to acquire Anthony Davis, which sent Lonzo Ball to the New Orleans Pelicans. With New Orleans, Lonzo has had the opportunity to yet again play a leadership role on the court with their budding team on the court.
