Born January 7, 1985 in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton found his need for speed early. In 1991, at age 6, his Father bought him a radio-controlled car. With it, he took second place the next year in the BRCA Championship, beating adults. The next step was a Go-Kart at age 6, and Hamilton was in on racing.
At age 8, his career began, as Hamilton started karting in the Ryse House Kart Circuit. He won so many races and championships that odd-makers calculated a 40/1 chance of him winning a Formula One Grand Prix by age 23. The confidence came with swagger, as he told Ron Dennis, Boss of the Formula One Team, one day he would win in his cars. His breakout year was his rookie year, 2007. He won his first Formula One race and set a record for a rookie.
In 2013, he switched from McClaren to Mercedes and won. In 2014 and 2015, he won his second and third world title back-to-back. His fourth and fifth came back-to-back in 2017 and 2018. Safe to say, he could race since just about day one. Off the track, Hamilton’s swag packs as much horsepower. Last year, he collaborated with Tommy Hilfiger to create his own line. The “TommyXLewis” line offers a variety of fly gear fit for such a border-breaking champ.
