Born in Santa Monica, California, Kevin Love was the middle of three children. An early fan of basketball, Kevin honed his hoop skills in Lake Osweago, Oregon. He devoured tapes of his idol Wes Unseld. He practiced passing with a cardboard box. Kevin became a household name playing in the Reebok Camps and Southern California All-Star leagues. His Lakers made several trips to the Oregon State championships.
Kevin earned first-team All-American, Pac-10 Player of the Year, All-Pac-10, and Pac-10 Freshman of the Year honors at UCLA. A draft day trade made Kevin a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves 2008 rookie class. Kevin became a crowd favorite. The face of the franchise was traded in 2014 to the Cleveland Cavaliers. With the Cavs, Kevin became a world champion.
