Karl Anthony-Towns was born in Edison, New Jersey. Held back a year in middle school, Karl become a basketball phenom in New Jersey. His high school squad won the state championship his freshman year. They repeated as champs in 2013 and 2014. He reclassified as a senior in 2014 and declared for the University of Kentucky. He was the 2014 Gatorade Player of the Year. After one year of NCAA ball and an outstanding performance the tournament, Anthony-Towns declared for the 2015 NBA Draft.
He was chosen first by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Karl helped the T-Wolves to their first ever 2-0 start to begin the 2015-16 season. After a shaky string of games, Karl found his stride. He won four consecutive Western Conference Rookie of the Month honors. The NBA crowned Karl the 2016 Rookie of the Year. He made NBA history in 2016–17 by becoming the only player to have at least 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 100 3-pointers in a season. He led the T-Wolves to the playoffs the next year.
Karl doesn't let his 7-foot frame hold him back from having fun with his fashion. Men his size struggle to find designer labels to fit them. Though he rocks his share of Jordan sweatsuits and athletic wear, Karl lets his wild side show. He is no stranger to leopard print. Karl played for the Dominican Republic National Team as a 17 year old. The squad was one win shy of qualifying for the 2012 olympics
