Henrik is a Swedish born professional goaltender who currently plays for the New York Rangers. He has an identical brother by the name of Joel. Both of them grew up playing hockey and enjoyed competing against one another. The reason Henrik is a goaltender is because his brother grabbed his arm and made him raise it when their coach asked them if anyone would be interested in becoming a goaltender. The rest is history.
In 2012 Henrik won the Vezina Trophy after being nominated for it in his first three seasons. Then, in December of 2013 he signed a seven year, seven figure contract extension with the Rangers which in turn made him the highest paid goaltender in the NHL. Fast forward to February of 2017 when Henrik won his 400th game and became only the 12th player in NHL history to earn 400 wins. This also made him the only European goaltender to reach this milestone.
Henrik is one of the best dressed men in the NHL bar none. He is very seldom seen wearing anything other than a well tailored suit. He likes to wear bold colors and patterns which help make him stand out from other athletes. In 2004 he was named the “Best Dressed” man in Sweden. When he isn’t dressed to the nines he is usually seen wearing a simple bomber jacket and jeans.
