Giancarlo was to born Michael Stanton and Jacinta Garay and is the youngest of three siblings. He spent most of his youth in the Tujunga portion of Los Angeles. He attended high school there but transferred to Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, when he was in his Junior year. At this time he was heavily involved with sports playing baseball as well as football and basketball. He excelled at all three sports but baseball was always his true passion.
In the 2007 amateur draft Giancarlo was selected by The Florida Marlins in the second round, 76th overall. It was around this time that he had to decide if he was going to go to college to play football or sign with the Marlins. He chose to sign with the Marlins and was subsequently placed with the Gulf Coast League Marlins. He started off on the Rookie level but quickly worked his way up the totem pole to the Greensboro Grasshoppers which is a Class A South Atlantic league. By 2009 Giancarlo was offered a spot with the Marlins for spring training. In November of 2014 the Marlins signed him to the largest contract in team sports history at the time. His contact was a 13 year, $325 million deal. In 2017 Giancarlo was traded to the New York Yankees.
In addition to being one of the wealthiest pro athletes, Giancarlo has also graced the pages of GQ. He really got to show off his fashionable side when he posed for the fashion publication. He opted for slim fit suits and baseball hats for his shoot. When this all star is off the field his style can best be described as modern and sleek. When he hits the red carpet he likes to keep things simple with a pair of slacks and a slim fit dress shirt or a well tailored suit. His street style is also insanely laid back. Most times he is photographed in jeans and a t-shirt.
