DeKaylin Zecharius "DK" Metcalf was born and raised in Oxford, Mississippi. After finishing his high school tenure with 224 receptions for 3,302 yards and 49 touchdowns, he was named a 4 star recruit and committed to Ole Miss. As a freshman he had 2 catches for 2 touchdowns before an injury ended his season. His final season in Oxford he sustained a career threatening Neck injury before foregoing his last two years of college and entering the draft.
Coming into the NFL there were doubts about DK’s durability as well as his lack of film showcasing his ability to run routes. This caused him to slip to the second round when the Seattle Seahawks picked him 64th overall. He finished his rookie campaign with 58 catches for 900 yards and 7 touchdowns, including a rookie record of 7 catches for 160 yards in the playoffs.
His style has been impressive from the moment he stepped into the spotlight. Designer Jackets are a common part of his wardrobe in Washington. His dyed Curly afro, Long earrings, and Nose piercings add a stylish dynamic to his eclectic style. Designer sneakers are common in his wardrobe since he can’t wear the ever so popular Jordans 1s due to being on Team Under Armour.
He comes from a football family. His father, Terrance, and Cousins, Eric and Terry were in the NFL
His Father said he began showing signs of superior strength at 5 years old when he squatted 100 pounds.
His Ole Miss teammate, AJ Brown was selected earlier in the same draft as DK by the Tennessee Titans.
