Derrick grew up in Yulee, Florida, attending Yule High School as a three-sport athlete. Derrick was a force running track and stood out on the basketball court, but when it came to football, Derrick was dominant. His high school career ended with a grand total of 12,124 yards, 153 touchdowns and a number one (overall) athlete in the nation ranking from ESPN.com. Derrick chose the University of Alabama for his college ball. He played there for three years winning both a National Title and Heisman Trophy.
In the 2016 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans drafted him in the second round. The Titans wanted a big back to help motor a grinding run game. Derrick has been that for them, teaming with a rotation of other backs behind run-oriented quarterback Marcus Martiato.
Derrick’s swag is deeply entwined with his Florida roots. His collection of short pants is endless. When he puts an outfit together, we can feel he is having fun. From street wear to suits or shorts, we’ll be keeping tabs on his looks, and you should too.
Derrick holds two NFL records. One he shares, longest touchdown run at 99 yards, and the other is all his, the first player to record 200+ yards and 4+ touchdown game on fewer than 22 carries.
Derrick graduated with a degree from Alabama in 2018.
He has been growing out his hair since elementary school.
