D'Angelo Russell was born in Louisville, Kentucky. He transferred to Montverde Academy in Florida before his sophomore season. D'Angelo won back-to-back high school championships in Florida. He later played in the McDonald's All-American Game and Jordan Brand Classic. He committed to Ohio State University to play his college ball. He was the first Buckeye freshman to ever record a triple-double. D'Angelo claimed several awards at year's end including Big 10 Freshman of the Year honors. Riding his wave, he declared for the 2015 NBA Draft.
The Los Angeles Lakers claimed him with the second pick of the draft. He made the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in his first year with the Lakers. In his second year he notched his first 40-point game. The Lakers traded D'Angelo to the Brooklyn Nets in 2017. In Brooklyn, D'Angelo has found his stride, earning a spot in the starting line-up and earning the Nets a vicious reputation as competitors. In 2020, D’Angelo went north, joining close friend Karl Anthony-Towns on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Playing in Los Angeles and New York has kept D'Angelo's style on the cutting edge. He can keep it casual with hoodies and distressed denim jeans. He can also keep it modern with a tailored blazer and crisp white tee. D'Angelo continues to impress with new looks and smart fits. The Kentucky native keeps it fresher than the city boys.
